Different electrical work requires different certificates. Understanding what you should receive helps ensure you're properly protected.

Types of Electrical Certificates

Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC)

What it covers:

  • New electrical installations
  • Complete rewires
  • New circuits
  • Consumer unit replacements

When issued:

  • After new installation work
  • Following major alterations
  • When extending an installation
