1. Free site survey
We walk every room with you, document existing wiring with photos and thermal imaging, and listen to how you actually use the property.
2. Detailed quotation
Fixed-price written quote with itemised circuits, accessory schedule, allowances for plastering and decoration, and a day-by-day programme.
3. First fix
Lift floors, chase walls, run all new cables, fit back boxes. We dust-sheet everything and clean down at the end of every day.
4. Plaster making-good
We can manage all plastering through our trusted partners or work to your decorator's schedule.
5. Second fix
Fit accessories, consumer unit, smoke alarms, light fittings. Full circuit testing and Megger insulation resistance checks.
6. Certification & handover
Issue EIC, building control certificate via label every circuit and walk you through the new consumer unit.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if my house actually needs a full rewire?
Common signs: a fuse box with rewireable fuses or no RCDs, fabric or rubber-insulated cabling, round-pin sockets, no earth on lighting circuits, persistent tripping, scorched or warm sockets, recurring lighting flicker, or a Code C1/C2 unsatisfactory EICR. We'll carry out a free survey and only recommend a full rewire if a partial rewire or remedial work won't bring you up to standard. Our most common verdict on properties built before 1985 is 'partial rewire is enough'.
Do you have to lift all the floors?
No — and we work hard not to. We lift the minimum number of boards needed to feed cables under joists, typically 1 in 4. In modern properties with chipboard flooring we cut neat access hatches that can be re-screwed and hidden under carpet. Upstairs floors in period properties (especially original Victorian/Edwardian boards) are treated with extra care and re-laid with the same fixings.
Can I stay in the house during the rewire?
Yes — most of our customers do. We work room by room, leave essential power and lighting live overnight via a temporary supply, and never leave the house in an unsafe state at the end of the day. For larger or heritage properties where dust is unavoidable, we'll discuss whether a 1-2 week move-out makes life easier.
How disruptive is the plastering?
We chase walls neatly using a track-cutter and patch-fill before plasterers come in. A 3-bed semi typically needs 1-2 days of plastering on top of our work. We can co-ordinate trusted plasterers and decorators or simply hand the property over for your own trades to finish.
Do you do partial rewires?
Yes — frequently. Many properties only need the kitchen, bathroom and consumer unit upgraded to current standards. A typical kitchen-only rewire is £1,500-£2,500 plus VAT and takes 2-3 days. We'll always quote for partial work where it makes practical and financial sense.
What's included in the price?
Everything: cables, accessories, consumer unit, smoke alarms, surge protection, certification, building control notification, our labour, materials, dust sheets, skip if needed, and a 6-year workmanship warranty backed by CHAS. The only things typically not included are plastering, decoration and any specialist heritage fittings (we'll quote those separately so you can shop around).
